Dr. Brewton has been a minister of the Gospel of the Kingdom for 26 years. He is an ordained Bishop, Apostle, and Ambassador of Goodwill. He is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Community Empowerment Ministries, Inc., located in Allendale, South Carolina. He is also Senior Pastor of Community Empowerment Family Worship Ministry, Inc., located in Claxton, Georgia. His apostolic covering and spiritual father is Dr. Gordon E. Bradshaw, President of Global Effect Movers & Shakers Network (GEMS) Chicago, Illinois. He is the “Goodwill Ambassador” for GEMS Network, a member of the SCOPEVision Group and the Tactical Application Team (TAC).
In addition, Dr. Brewton is a member of KCIA (Kingdom Congressional International Alliance). He is a member of the Board of Directors, Director of The Executive Strategic Intercession Team, Team Leader of the KCIA Business Consultant Intercession Teams, and Chairman of the Commission on Cultural and Social Reformation. He is an Inductee – Elect (Ambassador) for the Golden Rule Alumni recognized by the United Nations, and is an apostolic advisor to several leaders, organizations and corporations locally, nationally and internationally, including Alberta and Ontario in Canada, French St. Martin, and Dutch, St. Maarten.
Dr. Brewton is co-founder of the Allendale County Transformers (ACT), a collaboration of personnel representing every segment of community life, whose mandate is to transform the current mindsets and environments from poverty and complacency to one of activity, achievement, growth, and success. He has served as Chaplin for the Allendale County (S.C.) Sheriff’s Department and advisory member of the Sheriff’s Task Force on Gang Violence. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for Allendale County First Steps and has served as coordinator of several community activities for youth, involving recreation and other forms of social networking.
Dr. Brewton holds a bachelors degree in History and a Masters degree in Public Management from Florida A&M University. The Doctor of Divinity degree was conferred upon him by Hope Bible Institute and Seminary in 2013.
He is the author of three books: “A Slave of Circumstance” – 2005; “Back Porch Meditations, Holy Spirit Revelations” – 2012; and, “From Footmen to Horsemen: The Rise of Commissioned, Kingdom-Level Leaders” – 2016. He and his wife, Margie, reside in Allendale, South Carolina.
Pastor Margie Brewton is Director of the Excellence with Caring Ministry, an outreach component of Community Empowerment Ministries, Inc., Allendale, South Carolina. She also serves as Associate Pastor of Community Empowerment Family Worship Ministry, Inc. located in Claxton, Georgia. She is the daughter of Bishop Bennie Bacon, Sr. and the late Eva Mae Bacon of Tattnall County Georgia. She attended Tattnall County Public Schools and Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia, Georgia, where she completed requirements for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Pastor Margie married Minister James O. Brewton, Jr. in April of 1996, and has faithfully supported her husband's call to full-time ministry since June 1998, acquiring her Evangelist License in September 1998. Heeding God's call to start their own ministry, Pastor Margie accompanied her husband and two children to Allendale, SC.
Once there, she enrolled at Denmark Technical College and received an A.A. degree in Human Services in 2005. She received certification as a C.N.A (Certified Nursing Assistant) from Allendale Adult Learning Center. Pastor Margie earned a B.S. Degree in Social Work from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC in December 2006. In 2008, she earned a Masters Degree in Human Services from Liberty University, Lynchburg Virginia; her specialization is Marriage and Family Therapy.
The mantle of the Prophet was conferred upon her in the Dutch Island of St. Maarten by Apostle Dr. Gordon E. Bradshaw in July 2017. Pastor Margie has ministered internationally, and travels with Dr. Brewton fulfilling their mandate to empower people through revelation knowledge of the Word of God.
